Germany finished third at the last World Cup, at their home soil. Real Madrid moved back to the top of LaLiga as second-half goals from Vinicius Junior and Aurelien Tchouameni saw them come from behind to beat Las Palmas 2-1 in the Canary Islands.
Carlo Ancelotti’s men were forced to dig deep against the in-form hosts who grabbed a 53rd-minute lead through Javier Munoz and threatened to prevent their return to the summit ahead of Girona’s trip to Celta Vigo on Sunday.
And they did so without the talismanic Jude Bellingham, who was suspended after picking up a booking in last week’s tight 3-2 win over struggling Almeria.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers expects Jordan Henderson to continue improving and has hailed Kenny Dalglish for signing him.
The 23-year-old midfielder has taken time to settle since his big-money move reported to be around £20million from Sunderland in 2011 when Dalglish was in his second spell in charge at Anfield.
Under Rodgers, though, Henderson s fortunes have transformed dramatically and his stand-out performance and goal in Liverpool s 5-0 thrashing of Tottenham on Sunday is the latest in a series of impressive displays this season.

Signing Cristiano Ronaldo from Real Madrid does not have any impact on expectations for Juventus in the 2018-19 season, says Massimiliano Allegri.
Portugal captain Ronaldo joined Juve in a deal worth €112million, committing through to 2022 with the Serie A champions after ending a nine-year stay in the Spanish capital.
